Content:

Customizing Splunk

This is a short 25 minute presentation will show-and-tell the different ways to customize your Splunk setup. This will show how to customize your login background, add your company logo on Splunk web, and how to change the background color. Lastly, this will show you how to change the row color inside the dashboard panel based on the percentage of server errors.

Regular Expressions — From newb to competent in 10 days

Regular Expressions are an essential skill a Splunk ninja needs in their tool-belt. Luckily, RegEx is easy to learn and can be applied immediately. This session will cover the RegEx basics and uses https://regexone.com as a hands on way to apply our knowledge. Before leaving this class, you will be able to create a regular expression on your own to capture an IP address and JSessionID.

Presenter:

Aditum’s own Steve Koelpin will present the topics above. Steve is a member of Splunk Trust (he’s a fez!) and loves helping to develop other Splunkers. Please be sure to join the Tampa Bay Area Splunk User Group and attend when possible!

If you have ideas or requests for future Splunk User Group topics, please email them to: SKoelpin@AditumPartners.com.
